    I was taking a shower when my oldest son came running into the bathroom, yelling for me. He pulled back the shower curtain yelled, "Mommy, Jeremy is dead!" I jumped out of the shower and ran into the living room half naked with a towel.  His brother was lying on his back looking at the ceiling. I said, "Are you okay?" Jeremy replied  "I don't know," rather plantively. I turned to my older son, totally exasperated, and said, "Why did you think Jeremy was dead?" He replied confidently, "Because he told me."

    My son's Grandma Ruth died when he was a baby.  When Kyle was five, his Grandfather died.   Trying to approach the matter delicately, my wife and I explained to Kyle that Grandpa was picking up Ruth, and they were going to heaven.  My son though for a moment and replied "Well, when Grandpa gets there can he text me?"  How do I tell my son they don't have cell phone reception in Heaven?  The next thing you know I'll have to explain there are no Playstations in heaven either and all hell will break loose.

    My three-year-old son wanted to know what happens when you die. So I told him people believe you go to heaven.  "What's heaven?" he asked.  I replied "It's a place your soul goes to...like the place your soul lived before you were born."  He lit up like he really got the concept, and I took pride in explaining such a difficult concept that was until he said "OK, so when you die you go to the hospital."

    Recently Reed,my son, asked "What happens to you when you die." I replied "Your soul goes to heaven." Still not satisfied Reed said "But what happens to your bones?" Not wanting to lie I said "Well, they stay in the ground." My son abruptly erupted in tears, and I thought I scared him for life until he said "But what will happen to my toys?"
