My daughter had her 8th birthday and opened all her presents immediately after the party ended. One present she opened was a doll and when I told her is was a porcelin doll, she became even more excited. A week later she wrote thank you notes and made sure to thank the little girl who gave her the "Portland Doll."

I was taking the clothes out of the washing machine and setting them on the dryer door so that my 4 year old son could "help" me put them in the dryer. I finished emptying the washer so I proceeded to clean out the lint drawer, set the dryer timer and turn the dryer on. Suddenly. my son shouts, "Mom, wait, don't cook them yet."

My grandson sleeps over from time to time. This particular morning I was distracted as I busily made him pancakes and sausages for breakfast and drank my coffee. I thought the coffee tasted odd, and when I got towards the bottom of the mug, I noticed three of those tiny green army men. I said to my grandson "Honey, what are the army men doing in my coffee?" He replied "Grandma, it says on TV that the best part of waking up is soliders in your cup.

I took my daughter to her riding lesson, and her older brother was forced to go as well. As she walked her horse to the ring, my son asked "Is riding a sport?" My daughter replied confidently "Of course." Shaking his head my son argued "Well, I don't think there should be any sport where the thing you're playing with can sit on you and kill you."
