I recently explained to my daughter that ice-cream is just for dessert, because if you eat too much it can make you sick. Well, the next day at Walmart while I was shopping with my daughter and her cousin, my daughter pointed to a very obese woman buying ice-cream and said, "Is she sick from eating too much ice-cream?". And her cousin stated very loudly, "No she's fat from eating too many donuts" as she pointed to the donuts in her cart.

Once, my 4 year old son overheard me talking to a mother at his school about me being pregnant and having a thyriod problem. Well, the next night we were driving home and he calmly told me he didn't feel good.  When I asked him what was the matter he replied very seriously, "Ooh, my thyroid hurts"

My daughter has been sick for the past couple of days. So the other day, she came up to me and said, "Mom, my farts hurt.... but I still have the joy of the Lord."

I got the flu on Sunday.  So my thoughtful (and opportunistic) son, Eythen, asked if he could stay home from school today to take care of me.  I thought it was such a heart warming gesture until he added "Is it okay if I play with my Wii and trains all day unless you need something really important like Sprite?"

As I was tucking Eythen into bed this evening when he said to me: "Hey Mom. I think I am gonna feel yucky tomorrow.  So does that mean I can stay up tonight and watch cartoons since I'll be too sick to go to school tomorrow?"

My son has allergies since he was a baby, so he knows there are things he can and cannot do.  However, he's taken things a bit too far...the other day when I asked him to help me put his toys away, he looked at me and in a serious voice said "Sorry I can't help, I'm allergic to it."

My son, Caleb, lost his first tooth at dinner.  He bit into a McDonalds, and the tooth just came out.  He was so distraught he immediately ran to look at his missing tooth in the mirror.  After getting a good look he started sobbing and having a fit screaming "I don't look right, can't you buy me another one."

 I took my son out of school for a dentist appointment, and the pediatrican was around the corner so they worked my older son in for a physical too.  As part of the physical, the doctor examined my son's private parts.  His brothers knew he was going to the dentist, but not the pediatrician.  When my younger son asked how it went, my older son whispered something in his ear.  Suddenly, my middle son says "The dentist did that?"  Than with a serious look on his face he tells me "Mom I'm never going to the dentist again."

After he retired, my father became a handyman.  One day while installing a garbage disposal, he was in that typical under-sink position, with his legs sticking out from the shorts.  Surgery required him to wear heavy compression stockings which were showing.  The little girl of the household was watching and asked my Dad, "Does your Mommy know you wear pany hose?"  He assured her his Mom knew.  So she replied "Well, I guess it's okay then, but they sure are an ugly color."
