Animals

Years ago when my kids were young, our dog had a habit of making noises while going to the bathroom in our dining/family room. One afternoon, when I thought our kids were taking naps, my husband and I decided to engage in "other" activities on the family room sofabed.  Unfortunately I guess we weren't as quiet as we thought because I suddenly heard our daughter running down the hall to her sister's room. I jumped up and got to her room just in time to hear her explain " Jesca, Mommy and Daddy are pooping in the dining room"  (You never know how kids interpret sounds they hear coming from behind closed doors)

Potty Training

I had been struggling with potty training my daughter for a while.  One day, I was standing over her waiting for her to pee in the big potty, and suddenly that blessed sound filled the small bathroom. She looked up at me with a big smile, and said "It's music to your ears isn't it."  And she was right.
